Do I need an account to use RocketShare?

No, you can share files without creating an account. However, creating a free account doubles your monthly transfer quota (4GB vs 2GB) and extends the maximum storage duration from 3 to 7 days.

How are my files stored?

When you upload a file, it is encrypted directly in your browser before it ever leaves your device. The encrypted file is then sent to our servers for storage. Think of it like putting your file in a locked box that only you have the key to — we store the box, but we can never open it. The decryption key is part of your share link, so only people you share the link with can unlock and access the file.

How long are my files stored?

Without an account, files are stored for up to 3 days. With a free account, you can keep files for up to 7 days. Paid plans extend this to 30, 60, or 90 days depending on your plan. Files are automatically deleted after the expiration period.

What happens when my files expire?

When files reach their expiration date, they are permanently deleted from our servers. We do not retain backups of expired files. Make sure recipients download your files before the expiration date shown on your share link.

How does zero-knowledge encryption work?

Your files are encrypted in your browser using AES-256 encryption before being uploaded. The encryption key is embedded in the share link fragment (after the #), which never reaches our servers. This means we cannot access your files even if we wanted to. Learn more on our .

Can RocketShare access my files?

What happens if I lose the share link?

Unfortunately, we cannot help you recover your files if you lose the share link. The encryption key is embedded in the link itself and is never sent to our servers. This is a core part of our zero-knowledge security—it means your files are truly private, but also that we cannot recover them for you.

Are my files scanned for viruses?

No. Due to our zero-knowledge encryption, we cannot see or scan your file contents. Files are encrypted in your browser before upload, so our servers only ever receive encrypted data. Recipients should use their own antivirus software when downloading files from any source.

What information can you see about my files?

We can see: file sizes, upload timestamps, expiration dates, and download counts. We cannot see: file contents, file names, or encryption keys. This is by design—our zero-knowledge architecture ensures your actual files remain private.

Is RocketShare free to use?

Yes! You can use RocketShare without an account (2GB/month, 3-day storage) or create a free account for more (4GB/month, up to 7-day storage). For higher quotas and longer storage, we offer affordable paid plans.

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

How does billing work?

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis. We'll charge your payment method at the start of each billing period. You can switch between monthly and yearly billing anytime.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, and other local payment methods. Your payment details are securely handled by our payment provider—we never store your card information.

How do I update my payment method?

Go to your Profile page and click "Manage Billing" to access the billing portal. From there you can update your payment method, view invoices, and manage your subscription. Or if you're logged in.

Can I use RocketShare for my business?

Yes! Our Teams plan is designed for organizations. It includes centralized billing, member management, and the same zero-knowledge encryption that protects all RocketShare transfers.

A team is a group of users managed under a single subscription. Team owners can invite members, assign seats, manage roles, and handle billing centrally. Perfect for businesses, departments, or project groups.

Seats determine how many team members have access to premium features. Only members with an assigned seat get the Teams plan benefits. You can add or remove seats anytime, and billing adjusts automatically.

Do team members share a quota?

No. Each team member with a seat gets their own individual transfer quota based on the Teams plan. Quotas are not pooled or shared between team members.

What roles are available in Teams?

Teams have three roles: Owner (full control including billing and deletion), Admin (can manage members and invites), and Member (can use the service with team benefits). Only one owner per team.

How do I manage team members?

Team owners and admins can invite members by email, assign or remove seats, change roles, and remove members from the team. All management is done from the Teams page in your account.

What file types can I share?

You can share any file type with RocketShare. There are no restrictions on file formats. Documents, images, videos, archives, and any other file type are all supported.

What are the transfer limits?

Limits are based on monthly transfer quota. Without an account: 2GB/month. Free account: 4GB/month. Paid plans range from 60GB/month (Mini) to unlimited (Pro). Individual files can be any size within your quota.

What browsers are supported?

RocketShare works with any modern browser that supports the , which includes virtually all browsers in use today (~97% global support). Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Opera, Brave, and other Chromium-based browsers all work great, on both desktop and mobile. Some browsers offer an optional for large file downloads that reduces memory usage, but this isn't required—all browsers handle uploads and downloads just fine.

Does RocketShare work on mobile?

Yes! RocketShare is fully responsive and works on mobile browsers. You can upload and download files from your phone or tablet. No app installation required.

What happens if my upload is interrupted?

Large files are uploaded in chunks with automatic resume capability. If your connection drops or you close the browser, you can resume the upload within 24 hours. Simply return to RocketShare and the upload will continue from where it left off.

Is there a download limit?

No. There's no limit on how many times your files can be downloaded. Only your upload quota is metered. Recipients can download your shared files as many times as needed before the expiration date.
